Ruth and Jen have been attending Community Gospel for several years.  When they decided to have a commitment ceremony, the church - as well as their friends and families - came to celebrate.

Here at Community Gospel Church, we celebrate the love two people share - regardless of what sex they may be. Because the State of Texas refuses to recognize same-sex marriages in no way means they do not exist.  As a church, we believe God has a plan for each of our lives.  If His plan for you is to spend your life with a person of the same gender, we believe we should honor God's plan for you instead of trying to change who God made you to be.

It is for that reason we offer same-sex weddings as well as heterosexual weddings to couples wishing to make a commitment to each other as well as to God.  We receive many calls asking if we rent out our facility for weddings.  Because of so many religious practices, we insist that one of the ministers in the church perform the ceremony.  We do accept a $500.00 gift which covers the minister's honorarium, building use (including the fellowship hall), janitorial service, and a sound tech.  Of course we do not allow alcohol on church property.  If you chose to serve drinks at your reception, you will need to make arrangements somewhere else for the reception.

If you are interested in having your commitment ceremony done here at Community Gospel, give us a call for more information.

IN February of 2006, Community Gospel hosted the Right To Marry ceremony.  It was a wonderful time as we celebrated the joining together of families within our community
