We are so excited about our new ministry to the trans gendered community (TGOF)! April 6th will be the first meeting of our support group. The meeting will be at 7:30 here at Community Gospel. The focus of the support group is to bring TG people, their friends and family members together for a time of spiritual renewal. As part of the meeting, we will be learning about the truth of God's love for ALL. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to be here!

For far too long, the GLBT community has pushed aside the "T". We at Community Gospel believe the Good News of the Gospel is for EVERYONE. Trans gendered persons have played a vital role at CGC over the years. Not only have they been welcome to attend, they have been part of the ministry team - from singing specials, playing the organ for services, hospital visitation, and even preaching on various occasions. While being welcome and encouraged to be a part of the church, we have never had a ministry specifically targeting the trans gendered community.

On February 15th, Cecilia preached a wonderful message in the morning service. As part of the sermon, she gave her testimony as a way of educating folks about the various challenges a trans gendered person faces. This service was used as a "kick off" to the TGOF (Trans Genders of Faith) ministry here at CGC. Over the next few weeks, we will be starting support group meetings as well as reaching out to the trans gendered community through several TGOF activities.

Since arriving here at Community Gospel, Cecilia and June have jumped in with both feet. Their warm and caring personalities have caused the congregation to love and respect them. Please keep this outreach of the church in prayer as we endeavor to reach yet another segment of our community with the love and encouragement that Jesus would give. We thank God for the willingness of Sis. Cecilia and Sis. June to dedicate themselves to this ministry.
