2008 Revival & Dedication
October 29 - November 2 marked our 26th anniversary and our building dedication.  As our guests, we had Brothers Sam and Jerry from our sister church in Dayton, Brother Jeff from Nashville, and Sister Evelyn from right here at CGC.  It was a wonderful lineup for a wonderful revival!
Wednesday evening began with a very special presentation from our worship team.  They invited in the presence of the Lord as they demonstrated various ways of praising the Lord.  Of course, Bro. Jeff blessed us with a couple of songs.  One of his newest says that God is singing over me ... WOW!  Brother Sam brought a wonderful message about the dedication of the temple.  He brought out the point that the Glory of God filled the temple when they were in one voice proclaiming "The Lord is good, and His mercy endureth forever!"
Bro. Sam

Sis. Evelyn brought a powerful message Thursday evening - expressly to our church.  The main point of the message was that Jesus is coming soon.  Growing up in the Pentecostal movement, we were taught even way back then, that Jesus was coming soon.  The message took on a new and fresh meaning as the Spirit of God spoke to us.

There was such an incredible anointing on the worship team as service began Friday evening.  The Lord ministered to folks as we worshipped Him.  Normally, when Bro. Jeff ministers, he begins by singing a few songs and then brings the Word.  The Spirit was moving so powerfully, he moved directly into sharing the Word.  He told us how we were to be "Climate Changers."  We as believers, are to effect the atmosphere wherever we go.
Pastor Sam brought the message again on Saturday evening.  He preached about the king making a banquet and inviting friends to attend.  It is amazing that the same excuses are given today for not having enough time to spend with the Lord.  Family problems, money concerns, property challenges, along with developing our love life are just some of the "old" excuses we find for not assembling ourselves with the church.  Pastor Sam pointed out that just because those folks did not attend, the dinner was not cancelled.  The servants were sent into the streets to bring in all the folks they could so that the house would be full.  What a challenge for each one of us!
Sunday morning brought such an excitement in the air, you could almost touch it.  The Worship Team members were at their best as they sang about this being God's house.  A moving video was played (the same video on Look How Far page) which showed the progress of the church's renovation.  Then, Pastor Christopher brought the message.  He pointed out that the Glory of the Lord appeared AFTER all of the singers, musicians and priests were all in place.  We were reminded that each of us has a "place" to allow the Glory of God to fill the temple today.  In concluding the sermon, the pastors anointed and prayed over various ministries in the church.  It is very evident that God is placing folks in the right positions at the right time!
To wrap up the exciting week, Sister Evelyn brought a powerful message on monument builders.  We are building monuments for the next generation as well as people being brought to the Lord now.  As the church, we have a rich heritage of God's blessings to pass along.  This weekend, we built one more memorial to the miraculous power of Jesus Christ.
