This year's theme, "JESUS, the best reason to celebrate" was featured on our billboard as well as our t-shirts.  As we went sightseeing through the streets, we received many comments on the shirt (they really are great!!).  As in years past, there was a very large walking contingency.  To accommodate those not able to walk the entire parade route, we rented a golf cart to help out.
Our "throws" this year were whistles.  It was a great thing to pass out as everyone wants to make more noise... and they did!  A big thanks to Bro. Sven and the worship team for their rendition of "Wherever we go, that's where the party's at".
We are thrilled to report that the Bible is true.  God said to know that what we sow, we shall reap.  We went down on Westheimer to touch hearts and lives for Jesus.  What a joy it is to have at least four new members at Community Gospel as a direct result of the parade!  PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!

2007 Parade!

As in years past, we had a bus take us from the church to the parade route.  Even though the trip can be quite "warm", it is still a lot of fun.  The best part is not having to look for a place to park and being able to get back without the challenge of traffic!

When we got to the float, it was obvious it was ... how shall we say "droopy".  It was a giant birthday cake to celebrate our 25th anniversary.  We felt like Donna Summer singing MacAurther Park ... someone DID leave our cake out in the rain!  At this point, about the only thing you can do is hope no one would notice when it got dark and the lights were on.

Although it may seem very simple, there really is an art to carrying the church banner!  "It's easier if you carry it this way!"..."No, it's better like this!"......

When the sky turned dark and the lights came on, it looked pretty good.  Because of the rain, there were some sound issues and one of our "candles" was blown out.  Praise God we continued on with our mission.  As always, the crowd was very kind and receptive to our entry.  Not only did we have a good time, folks were added to our assembly because of our witness at the parade.

This year's throws were slide whistles.  The idea was very well received by the spectators of the parade.  The whistles had the website address imprinted.  God is faithful over the seeds that were sown that evening.  There are at least four new members of Community Gospel as a direct result of the parade.  PRAISE THE LORD!!!
