Community Gospel Church

For many years, Community Gospel would host a pride event in June called "Make a Joyful Noise."  We would invite other churches in the community to bring talent from their congregation, merge them all together, and have a night of praise and worship.  From that beginning, God gave a vision to one of our members of having a concert of our own as a "gift" to the community.  God sent many talented individuals to our congregation to fill the program with our own folks.

Since that first XALT, the vision has grown to a bi-annual event.  The Sunday night before the Pride Parade in June, as well as the Sunday night before Christmas are very special evenings around here.  The "themes" of programs have ranged from bringing down the veil in the temple, huge banners displaying the names of God, a 2000 square foot rainbow banner covering the congregation, creating a human rainbow ribbon surrounding the cross,  and the exciting Christmas themes ... REJOICE! and Everything Glorious.

Professional caliber sets and costumes are a big part of these productions.  One year, the platform was transformed into a prison cell block where Paul and Silas were being held.  That was before the earthquake that opened the doors!
