About Us

Here are a few of the comments people have made about Community Gospel that pretty well sum up the church.

"They talk too much about Jesus at that church!"  While some churches are speaking about "the Christ," "Creator," or "Higher Power," we love the name of Jesus!  We are told there is no other name by which we are saved.  It is no wonder the enemy wants to erase the name of Jesus from our churches.  All power in heaven and earth is given to the name of Jesus.  But most of all, when you are in love with someone, you can't help but talk about them.  That is why we talk about Jesus so much, we're in love!

"They are just too friendly at that church!"  There was a couple who came into the church before service and they were greeted by several people.  It was obvious they left before service even began.  That week, they sent a card to the church that said they just wanted to go to church and be left alone.

We make every effort to respect everyone's "space".  However, we find that most people enjoy being welcomed by a hug or hand shake.  There are many churches where a person can disappear into the crowd and be just another number.  We realize everyone has a choice of which church to attend, or even if they attend.  That is why we want to make sure our visitors know we are honored they chose Community Gospel.

"There are just too many hypocrites at that church!"  The question then becomes, where would you prefer they go?  It seems that they would need to be in church as much or more than anyone else.  If we each look at our own behavior, certainly we can see room for improvement.  It is important we remain open to the Holy Spirit's working to mold us into the people God intended us to be.
